Writing Reveals. . .

“Every moment and every event of every man’s life on earth plants something in his soul.” -Thomas Merton

“I know I’m late (LOL), but I just wanted to tell you two how much I admire and look up to your relationship.

I hope to one day have an everlasting love like yours, with God being the center of our lives. I love you both very much and I am so thankful that you get to instill the same values that you taught me into my daughter.

This is a blessing and you are greatly appreciated and you have always been. Muah!! I love you!! Love, your granddaughter”

Many thoughts danced through my mind as I read those words. I thought about how her writing reveals how grownup she was to take the time to do that. For her taking that extra step showed maturity.

I got through that first round of thoughts and all I could do was look at the words, take them in and think, “How great you are, God, that you would allow us the privilege of knowing that our lives have been a light.

After examining her note, what I began to see was amazing. There are things that were invisible without seeing it from a spiritual perspective. Here are the 5 her writing reveals after I was able to see after meditating over her words:

1. Her spiritual eyes were opened
2. Someone she could imitate
3. God is important
4. Values are still appreciated
5. Desire to instruct her child in the ways of the Lord

Yes, all of that from a note. Writing can reveal much about who you are and who you are becoming.

Once I got started there was something else that kept gnawing at me, “everlasting love,” where have I heard that term used before? A Google search revealed the words spoken to Jeremiah, Chapter 31:3: “I have loved you with everlasting love; therefore, with loving kindness I have drawn you.”

I believe that this is the beginning of my granddaughter’s life taking a different turn, based upon her own words. What’s in a note? Some may see just words; others may see hope, be encouraged. Each will see different things.

How awesome it would be that my transformed life by the supernatural power of God has touched my granddaughter’s way of thinking and has planted a seed of hope in her for the future.

The Lord reveals himself in mysterious ways sometimes. He could show up any where, and any time he chooses to.

I get excited about spiritual transformations, seeing lives that have been broken, given up on with no hope, being completely restored and brought back better than ever.

Let me know what you think.

Keep the Faith,
Blondie Clayton
